Apple has unveiled its latest premium smartphones, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. These models come with larger displays, powerful new camera features, and much better battery life. Both phones are powered by Apple’s new A18 Pro chip, designed for better performance, smooth gaming, and advanced AI features known as Apple Intelligence.
Larger Displays and Sleek Design
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max now offer bigger screen sizes than ever before, with the Pro featuring a 6.3-inch display and the Pro Max a 6.9-inch display. These Super Retina XDR displays have thin borders and are protected by a tougher ceramic shield, making them more durable and resistant to drops. The new titanium body makes these models strong yet lightweight, adding to their premium feel.
Apple Intelligence
The highlight of these new models is Apple Intelligence, a new system that uses AI to understand personal context and help users with tasks across apps, from creating images to managing emails. It’s designed to make everyday tasks easier while keeping user data private through a feature called Private Cloud Compute. This AI system will roll out as a software update later this year.
Pro-Level Camera and Video Features
For photography enthusiasts, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max come with a 48MP Fusion camera that allows 4K video recording at 120 frames per second, the highest resolution and frame rate ever on an iPhone. The Ultra Wide camera has also been upgraded to 48MP for better wide-angle shots and macro photography.

A new Camera Control feature lets users interact with the camera more easily. This includes adjusting focus, zoom, and exposure by simply tapping the screen. Camera Control will also be available for third-party apps, allowing for more customization and control. The Pro models also feature 5x telephoto zoom for long-distance shots and four high-quality microphones for clearer audio recording.
Improved Performance and Battery Life
With the new A18 Pro chip, both models offer faster processing, smoother gaming, and improved power efficiency. The phones also support ray tracing for more realistic lighting in games and have a new Game Mode for better performance with wireless accessories like AirPods and game controllers.
Battery life has seen a major upgrade, especially in the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which now has the longest battery life ever seen on an iPhone.
Connectivity and Safety Features
In terms of connectivity, users can stay connected even when they’re outside cellular or Wi-Fi coverage, thanks to Apple’s satellite communication technology. This feature allows users to send messages and make emergency calls via satellite. Apple is also introducing a new Roadside Assistance feature for car troubles in remote areas, available in the U.S. and U.K.
Environmentally Friendly Design
Apple has made significant steps to make the new iPhones more eco-friendly. The iPhone 16 Pro models use over 25% recycled materials, including 100% recycled aluminum in the internal frame and recycled cobalt in the battery. The company is working toward becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
Pricing and Availability
The iPhone 16 Pro starts at INR 1,19,900, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at INR 1,44,900. Pre-orders will begin on September 13, and the phones will be available in stores starting September 20. They come in four finishes: black titanium, natural titanium, white titanium, and desert titanium.
In addition to the phones, Apple is also releasing a new MagSafe charger and a range of accessories, including cases in different colors, all designed to work seamlessly with the new Camera Control feature.
Apple Intelligence Rollout
Apple Intelligence will be available through a free software update next month in U.S. English, with more languages and regions expected to be supported over the coming year.
This launch marks a significant leap forward for Apple, blending AI capabilities with powerful hardware to provide users with a more intuitive and efficient smartphone experience.
