Remembering Kunwar Sarvesh Singh’s Legacy and Political Impact
In a tragic turn of events, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kunwar Sarvesh Singh, who was contesting from the Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, passed away on Saturday at the age of 71. The seasoned politician and businessman had been battling a prolonged illness. They breathed his last at Delhi AIIMS around 6.30 pm, just a day after polling in Moradabad during the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
Kunwar Sarvesh Singh, a prominent figure within the BJP’s ranks in Uttar Pradesh, had not actively participated in the election campaigns due to his health conditions. His absence was felt keenly by supporters and party members alike. UP BJP Chief Bhupendra Chaudhary confirmed the news of Singh’s demise, citing health complications related to his throat that had led to an operation recently.
Expressing deep sorrow over the loss, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took to social media to extend his condolences and prayers. “I am shocked by the demise of BJP candidate from Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency and former MP Kunwar Sarvesh Singh ji. This is an irreparable loss for the BJP family. My condolences are with the bereaved family,” Adityanath wrote, adding heartfelt prayers for strength to Singh’s supporters and family members.
Kunwar Sarvesh Singh was known for his strong leadership within the BJP, particularly in Uttar Pradesh. Hailing from the Thakur caste, he had served as an MLA four times from the Thakurdwara Assembly seat. His son, Kunwar Sushant Singh, currently holds the position of MLA from the Badhapur assembly seat, which falls within the Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency.
