Chhattisgarh Assembly Gears Up: Budget Presentation Set for February 9 in Inaugural Session

The anticipation builds as the first budget session of Chhattisgarh’s newly-elected legislative assembly kicks off on Monday, with the state’s fiscal plan for FY 2024-25 set to be unveiled on February 9, announced Speaker Raman Singh.

In a press conference held in Raipur on Sunday, Singh outlined the session’s agenda, starting with Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan’s address. The proposed debate on the motion of thanks to the governor’s address is scheduled for February 7 and 8. State Finance Minister O.P Chaudhary will take the floor to present the budget for the upcoming fiscal year on February 9.

The session is slated for 20 sittings, concluding on March 1, Singh revealed. As of Sunday, legislators have submitted a total of 2,335 notices of questions, with 1,162 falling under the starred category and 1,173 as unstarred questions.
