West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suffered a “major injury” to her forehead after a fall at her home, leading to her hospitalization. Banerjee, accompanied by her nephew Abhishek Banerjee and other family members, was promptly taken to the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata after the incident.

According to reports, Banerjee received stitches for the wound on her forehead and was later discharged from the hospital. The All India Trinamool Congress shared photos of the Chief Minister on a hospital bed, showing a deep cut in the middle of her forehead and blood on her face. The party urged supporters to keep Banerjee in their prayers during her recovery.

“Wishing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee a speedy recovery. Our prayers are with her for a quick return to good health,” said Sukanta Majumdar, the state president of Trinamool Congress.

Leaders from across the political spectrum, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, expressed their concern and sent wishes for Banerjee’s swift recovery. Prime Minister Modi stated, “I pray for a quick recovery and the best health for Mamata Didi,” while Vice President Dhankar conveyed his deep anguish and hoped for Banerjee’s speedy recovery.

In a video circulating online, Banerjee was seen being transported to the Neurosciences Department of the hospital in a wheelchair, with a bandage visible on her forehead. The incident has sparked widespread concern among supporters and political observers, with many awaiting updates on Banerjee’s health and recovery progress.
