PM Modi Flags Off 6 New Vande Bharat Trains, Strengthening Rail Network in Eastern India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off six new Vande Bharat Express trains today from Tatanagar, Jharkhand. Ahead of his visit, PM Modi reiterated his government’s dedication to accelerating the development of Jharkhand.

In a post on the social media platform X (Twitter), the Prime Minister expressed his commitment, saying, “We are determined to ensure the rapid development of Jharkhand. This morning at around 10 a.m., I will have the privilege of flagging off six Vande Bharat trains from Tatanagar and inaugurating and laying the foundation for several other projects. I will also participate in an event related to the PM Awas Yojana-Gramin for beneficiaries.”

During his visit to Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, PM Modi will not only flag off the Vande Bharat trains but also inaugurate and lay the foundation for various development projects worth ₹21,000 crore. These initiatives are expected to significantly boost the state’s infrastructure, connectivity, and welfare schemes.

New Vande Bharat Trains to Enhance Connectivity

The six new Vande Bharat trains flagged off by PM Modi will serve key routes, enhancing rail connectivity across eastern India. The trains will operate on the following routes:

  • Barhampur-Tatanagar
  • Rourkela-Howrah
  • Deoghar-Varanasi
  • Howrah-Gaya
  • Howrah-Bhagalpur

These semi-high-speed trains, known for their cutting-edge technology and passenger comfort, will drastically reduce travel time between these important cities, promoting economic growth and regional integration.

Major Projects in Focus

Alongside the inauguration of the Vande Bharat trains, PM Modi will launch several infrastructure and development projects during his visit. One of the key highlights is the PM Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) initiative. Under this scheme, 1,13,400 homes have been approved for families living in temporary shelters across Jharkhand. The Prime Minister will release the first instalment for the construction of these homes, marking a major step in providing affordable housing to rural citizens.

According to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, “The government is committed to providing housing for the underprivileged in Jharkhand. Funds for the construction of these homes have already been released to the state government.”

Public Rally and Roadshow in Jamshedpur

After the formal ceremonies, PM Modi will participate in a public rally at Gopal Maidan in Jamshedpur, where he is expected to address the citizens of Jharkhand. Following this, a grand roadshow is scheduled, where PM Modi will interact with the people, reaffirming his commitment to their welfare and the state’s overall development.

Security Arrangements in Place

Security has been tightened ahead of PM Modi’s visit, with over 3,000 police personnel and officers deployed to ensure the Prime Minister’s safety. He is expected to spend approximately six hours in Jharkhand during this visit.

The launch of the new Vande Bharat trains and other developmental projects is expected to have a significant impact on Jharkhand’s economic and social landscape. The government’s focus on improving infrastructure, housing, and rail connectivity is a major boost for the region and its residents.
